Kalundborg Bioenergi operates a biogas plant in Kalundborg that utilizes residual biomass from Novonesis and Novo Nordisk. The plant converts organic residual streams into biogas and upgrades the biogas to biomethane of natural-gas quality by removing carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide. Recovered sulphur is utilized as a component of fertilizer products made from the residual biomass. The biomethane is supplied through the natural gas network to local industrial customers and other consumers.
